And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15 (NKJV)

Recently, the gifted singer Lauren Daigle crossed over from Christian radio to the secular world of The Ellen Show. Lauren's new album Look Up Child debuted at #3 on the Billboard Charts. No, not the Billboard Christian Charts, but number three on the Billboard 200, which measures music across all genres. Look Up Child is exploding. It's crossing over like MercyMe's I Can Only Imagine.
This young lady, who is drawing comparisons to Adele, and Amy Winehouse, and whose new album is all over the Christian and Billboard charts, brought a song about God still rolling stones away and bringing people to life. She brought the Gospel to millions. 1.7 Million, as of this writing, have viewed her appearance on YouTube, in addition to the millions she sang to when the show was on live.
Millions exposed to a Gospel message. A hundred or so in the audience went home with a free copy of her album, containing song after son exalting the name of Jesus and the Love of God.
Yet, people are tearing her apart for going on Ellen's show due to Ellen's sexual orientation.
There are millions of Christians in firm support of her, but there are many who are outspokenly denouncing Lauren Daigle for her appearance on Ellen. Expressions of disappointment, anger, and frustration littered Daigle's Facebook page. Below are some screen shots from some of the less-than-supportive responses.
However, my plea is that we revert to the Bible, to the Spirit of God, and, instead of condemning and judging as below, should you find you disagree with Daigle's appearance on Ellen's show, pray for her and that God would still use her gifts. Pray that the draws of money and fame will never corrupt the beauty of the Gospel in her songs. Pray that millions would find Christ because of her talent.
Regardless...the below is about as anti-Jesus one can be in their responses as one can get.
All screen shots take directly from Lauren Daigle's public Facebook page. These responses are among quite a few that show some serious issues within the Body of Christ. First and foremost, there is no love here. There is no compassion and no love for the lost. It's almost as if portions of the church want to keep Christ an exclusive club. That is not what Christ came to build. This is the thought and legalism Christ came to tear down.
All we need to do is simply consult the Word of the Lord.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15 (NKJV)
Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. Luke 14:23 NKJV
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV
We are called to GO. We are called to seek the lost and point them back to Jesus. We, like Jesus with Matthew and the tax collectors, must go and bring the light of the world to the world. Hiding in our churches and small groups and like-minded-Facebook groups is not going to fulfill the calling that following Christ has on our lives.
By tearing down Lauren Daigle, we, as a body, prove the world right and give them proof of their accusations of bigotry, hatred, fear, judgment, and mistreatment of those who believe differently.
We, as The Body of Christ, should pull together, like a majority of the comments have, and celebrate. Lauren's appearance on The Ellen Show just shared the Gospel message with about 3 million or so on live TV, another approximately 200 who also have her entire album full of the Gospel, and another 1.7 million, and rising, who have seen the performance on YouTube.
Let's stop beating each other up. Let's support each other. Let's praise God when the Light of the World makes national television. Let's cover Lauren in loving prayer that she will be the influencer, and not be influenced. Pray that her light and love and talents from God will glorify His Mighty Name.
Let's be who Jesus taught us to be...not who He taught us not to be.
