Michael Rogers

“New Frontiers!”  That statement embodies this new season that Michael finds himself walking through.  Although he is new to improv, Michael is not new to the stage.  He is a worshipper of God and has been privileged to lead congregations in worship with his voice and guitar domestically and internationally.  Over the years His voice has been his primary instrument.  He grew up singing in a family band, choirs, worship bands and even a Southern Gospel quartet.  He has served as a Music Director for Christian Youth Theater, been a house church Pastor, was Dance Club DJ and was even a regular dancer on Soul Train (that was a lot of years ago!).

His wife, Naomi, helped to introduce Michael to the dramatic stage by encouraging him to audition for an Overshadowed Theatrical Production of the musical Oliver.  He played Mr. Bumble in Oliver and later the Toymaker in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.  He has also been blessed to to work behind the scenes with Naomi as a script co-writer/editor, roadie and sound tech for His Story Productions — a ministry that produces a one-woman show about Mary, the mother of Jesus, sharing the Gospel of Christ, using the dramatic arts.

Michael has been married over 30 years, but is still thrilled to come home each night to his beautiful wife.  They have raised and homeschooled 2 amazing, now adult, children and are looking forward to Grandparenthood, which is right around the corner.  By day, Michael works as an Engineered Sealing Specialist in the Industrial Fluid Power/Manufacturing market.  He is excited to drop his inhibitions, be a little silly and help bring the joy of the Lord to those he encounters on the new frontier!

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 12:3 (ESV)

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

John 15:11 (ESV)
