It's a posture of surrender.

The beauty of raising your hands during worship is that it communicates physically so many beautiful messages.

It's a posture of surrender. It symbolizes the reality that we are not designed to do this life on our own power, but we must surrender our lives to the Father.

It's a posture of celebration. How often do we see fans at sporting events celebrate home runs, touchdowns, big plays, or big wins by shooting their arms up in the air? The exuberant celebration always includes raising of hands matched with facial expressions of joy. Raising your hands in worship is a celebration of God's goodness, faithfulness, grace, mercy, and love.

It's a posture of love. Like a young child stretching to reach for a parent's hug, to be carried in that parent's arms, raising your hands to our loving Father is saying the same thing: Daddy, pick me up...hold me...I love you...I'm Your child.

Surrender. Celebrate. Love.

EnJOY your loving Father in Heaven when you worship. Surrender to Him. Celebrate Him. Love Him.

He does the same for you.
